Newsletter privacy policy
Purpose of the Newsletter & Information:
In order to provide information on offers and activities of the PhD Network, i.e. the network for international doctoral candidates and postdocs coordinated by the International Office, as well as to send information that the International Office considers relevant for the target group of international doctoral candidates and postdocs at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, it is necessary that Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg as the responsible party processes your personal data. This means that we store the individual personal data (e-mail address) voluntarily provided by you and use it to send our newsletter. Your personal data will not be used for any other purposes and will not be passed on to third parties.
Scope:
As part of the registration for the newsletter, we only collect your e-mail address
Consent:By requesting to be included in the newsletter, you consent to the processing of your personal data for the purpose of sending newsletters in the International Office area by Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg as stated above. You would like to receive the newsletter by e-mail in the future. You can revoke this consent in writing or in text form at any time with effect for the future at

Processing purposes and legal basis
Your personal data are processed for the purpose of sending you a newsletter (subscription, implementation, cancellation) based on Art. 6 (1)(a) of the GDPR.
Categories of the recipient
Your personal data shall not be transmitted to a third party.
Transfer to third countries
Your personal data shall not be transferred to third countries.
Duration of storage
Your personal data shall be erased no later than 14 days after cancellation of our newsletter. Furthermore, as part of our quality control procedures, we delete all undeliverable addresses and associated personal data at irregular intervals.
Rights of the data subject
You have the right to request at any time information on the personal data stored by us and assigned to you (Art. 15 GDPR). Furthermore, you have the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data transmission (Art. 20 GDPR) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR).
Revocability of consent
If you have given your consent for the processing of personal data assigned to you, you have the right to revoke this consent at any time with future effect without affecting the legality of the processing carried out up to then.

Obligation to provide personal data
There is no obligation to provide your personal data, however this is necessary to subscribe to our newsletter. Unfortunately, you cannot subscribe to our newsletter without providing this data.
