International PhD Days 2020

Dear international doctoral candidates and postdocs,
We cordially invite you to the International PhD Days 2020 for doctoral candidates and postdocs. The event will take place on October 27th and 28th 2020 and is organized by the International Office and the International Graduate Academy (InGrA). This event is mainly aimed at doctoral students who have only recently begun their doctorates at the Martin Luther University, but even if you are already in the middle of writing: participation is worthwhile! In a variety of online events - including workshops, short lectures and Q&As - you will have the opportunity to get to know different departments of the university which offer useful services for you and to learn more about other exciting topics relevant for your doctoral studies.
Of course, the meeting also offers the opportunity to ask questions and meet new people.

Preliminary Schedule:

Tuesday, 27.10.

1 pm: Introduction.
Greeting from Dr. Gerda Patze (representative of the city of Halle), team leader science & digitization.
Presentations: Doctoral studies and InGrA at MLU, Support Services of the International Office & PhD Network (online)
2 pm: Q&A Session, Presentations of doctoral students‘ home countries (online)
3 pm: Getting to know each other: Icebreaker games (online)


Wednesday, 28.10.

9 am: Workshop „Let’s Go!“ (online, trainer: Dr. Michael Gordian): This seminar will help you start with your PhD and deal with some typical difficulties that you might be confronted with in the coming years
1:30 pm: Workshop: "Teamcommunication" (online, trainer: Prof. Dr. Sascha Bosetzky): This workshop introduces you to the soft skills needed for successful teamcommunication and collaboration.
