Day trip Hiking in Saale-Unstrut region

Dear PhD-students, PostDocs and partners,

We are happy to announce our next excursion!

On Saturday, July 15, we will hike from Naumburg to Leißling in the Saale-Unstrut-Region. The track will lead along the river Saale and the vineyards on the banks of river Unstrut. It is mostly flat and about 16 km long. Highlights and rest areas are Goseck Castle (which will be the place for our lunch break) and the Solar Observatory. The 7000 year old Solar Observatory of Goseck provides one of the earliest archaeological evidences for systematic celestial observation!

We’ll start in the morning at 8 am from Halle Central Station. The trip will end approximately in the early evening. Your participation fee of 6,00 € will cover the fares for public transportation, lunch at Goseck Castle and a tour through the Solar Observatory.

When registering, please indicate whether you have a semester ticket in the comment section. Please transfer the participation fee afterwards and send us a proof of your payment via email. If we haven’t received your payment and neither a proof of your transaction until Friday, June 30, we might have to give your place to someone else.

IMPORTANT: According to DAAD guidelines the excursion can only take place if at least 20 foreigners participate personally on July 15, 2017. So, we hope for at least 20 registrations/participations. Please, only register if you really want to participate and transfer the fee immediately to the bank account mentioned in Contactus until June 30, 2017. As, according to experience, it can take some time until we receive the money on our account, so we kindly ask you to send us a payment document via e-mail. If you pay and do not show up on the day of the excursion, we will consider this as non-attendance. If despite registration and transfer of the participation fee, . e.g. you get ill or cannot take part for other reasons, you are obligated to inform us in written form / per e-mail. In that case, we will try to give your place to someone else in order to guarantee the taking place of the excursion and to meet the DAAD guidelines. If the excursion cannot take place due to a small number of registrations, we will inform you immediately.

Please bring suitable footwear, sun and rain protection (if necessary), enough to drink and snack for the road.

Children are of course also very welcome on this excursion!
